Our donation for Haiti did arrive!

It is unbelievable, in which degrading conditions people in Haiti still live after the earthquake.Therefore it is important to us, to support charity projets like the one from Arche Ottersweier. Education, meals for children, sewing school and rebuilding the community are ventures which urgently need our support. The picture shows the reconstruction of a school. With our donation we could contribute.

Haiti furthermore needs our help!

On 12th of January 2010 one of the poorest country in the world was rocked by a heavy earthquake. One year after this catastrophe nearly one million people still are homeless. There is rarely employment, only a fraction of the ruins are put aside and the conglomeration of rubbish is enormously growing.
Therefore we support again the Christian community “Arche Ottersweier” with a donation for Haiti.

Yves Rocher Meeting at B&K

From 23.11. to 24.11.2011 B&K hosted the „International Product Meeting“ from Yves rocher.
Members from different European countries exchanged strategies and experiences. We are glad, that they have choosen B&K as their meeting point. So it was an opportunity for us, to introduce our products and services to them.

We print carbon neutral!

Now carbon neutral printing is available at B&K. We offer this environmental service to you together with natureOffice. So all carbon emissions concerning material and printing will be compensated following natureOffice procedures. The compensation is realized by buying certified carbon credits from climate protection projects according CDM Gold Standard and the CarbonFix Standard for Reafforestation Projects. Each and every print product receives a unique tracking number, generated automatically by the natureOffice system. Using this number, everyone can track the amount of compensated greenhouse gas and the carbon offset project even years later. Herewith you can be sure having invested directly into premium climate protection projects.

Innovation Award of the German print industry – „Print Stars 2011“

Again – B&K in the final

This year 373 products were submitted in 13 categories. It’s a big pleasure for us, that B&K is in the final with two different products.
 

The cover for the German magazine “Profil 40 Jahre” is nominated in the category “magazines, special interest magazins and newspaper”. Our famous football PopUp, created for the World Championship convinced the jury for the category commercial print.

Whether or not our products will establish themselves for the first price will be revealed on the 10.11.2011 in Stuttgart.

Gatefold cover for P.M.

The current German scientific magazine P.M. got an interesting B&K cover. On the front cover inside a gatefold is integrated for an ad for BMW. Therefore we had to integrate flaps inline on our finishing line. With this gatefold the message from BMW “…seeing more with Surrround view…” is coming to life.

InStyle Spring Cover

Sunshine, nice and mild temperature and fresh and powerfull colours – this is spring. And this is the current German Instyle magazine too. To transport this atmosphere the cover is printed 10 colour plus varnish. In one go at B&K.

"AutoBild" special cover from B&K

The extra thick jubilee issue from the German car magazine Auto Bild allowed themselves for the 25th anniversary a special cover from B&K. Inline on the web we did produce UV-varnish as well as gold metallic special colour. Additionally to that the front cover inside opens for a gatefold to advertise the new Audi A6.

Congratulations to Auto Bild. Hopefully we will produce a lot of such nice covers for you the next 25 years too.

Shutter cover in German Instyle Magazine

 

Chloé attracts in the current German Instyle magazine (Juanuary 2011) the limited edition collect’or with a shutter advertising on the front cover inside. The advert ist nearly without text, only brand and product names are shown. The message is submitted even stronger by the shutter technique.

PrintStar 2010

 

The prize for innovations in the German printing industry was awarded on 18.11.2010 in Stuttgart. Although we did not climb the winners’ rostrum this time, we are very proud, that we were nominated under the the top ten out of 344 candidatures. Our product is a so called shutter cover which we did for a German woman magazine. Hence B&K is one of the PrintStars 2010.

Saeco slider

Saeco, inventor of automatic household coffee machines, decided to use a slider from B&K for their advertising in different German popular living magazines with high quantities. Moving the slider the premium model of Saeco will be revealed through a round window. Additionally to that, on the reverse you can slide through the different Saeco models.

This year again the direct marketing exhibition “Mailingtage” in Nuremberg was a big success for the sales team of B&K. A big number of clients had a warm welcome at our stand and the latest products were introduced to them.  A nice number of new contacts could be convinced of the cleverness of creative products.

Highlight of the event was the awarding for “outstanding achievement in category offset-mailing” for B&K. This was for the “chocolate mailing” which B&K produced for Haufe-Lexware. A mailing for all senses.

Playing field punctually at opening game in your letterbox

Especially for the football world championship Haufe-Lexware and B&K together developed a print and finishing “delicacy”.

A usual looking 4 pager folds when opened to a three dimensional playing field. But the players are not the German football team, but the software products from Haufe-Lexware.
This exceptional PopUp was sent to a very special target group via Postwurf-Spezial. A service from Deutsche Post, which B&K offers beside the pure production.

The issue 18 of the German football-magazin Sport-Bild attracted the audience with a special die-cut shape. The message to secure your official jersey from the German football association is strengthened by the shape of the football shirt.

Clinique booked a shutter-inbound for Woman & Home which was produced by B&K.
Flipping the flaps shows ideally the effect how to look “before and afterwards. Although there is more space for explanation and message on the inbound, than it would be on a usual 4-pager. Again, an advertising which attracts people.

Look through to the Carribean

Deutsche Telekom promoted their latest product „Entertain“ with a tailormade product.
The brochure offers on the title a look through a die cut window to a UV-spot-varnish area.
Again: printing, folding, die-cutting and varnishing inline in one go.

Change of logo clarified by „jet label“

Mail order group Otto point out the change of the logo of “brandneu” in the current spring / summer catalogue. B&K produced inline in web offset a so called jet-label. The client can just peel off the old cover and the new design is revealed.

Additional UV-varnishing unit for web offset installed

B&K installed a second UV-varnishing unit inline for web offset. Therewith it is possible to varnish one sided as well on the M600 presses. The variety of web-offset products with UV-varnish is remarkably enhanced. And the capacity for magazine and catalogue covers with UV-varnish is doubled.

60th International Calendershow in Stuttgart –
B&K product awarded

The Porsche „Historic-Calendar“ which was produced by B&K was awarded at the International Calendarshow in Stuttgart this year. The jury of the “Graphische Klub” reviewed more than thousand calendars according a lot of criteria. We are happy that they judged print and finishing as excellent as concept, design and photography.

Big year end finish for special products

For the December issue of the German TV-Magazines Hörzu und TV Digital B&K produced again advent-calendars.

The perfect interplay between print-quality, perforation, die-cut and register forced the publishers to order this product with us.

Shortly after this there was another opportunity for us to prove the high quality and accuracy of inline-production. An advertising of Union Investment opens a “door” for a seed money of 3 x 10.000,- Euro.

Slogan and paper-mechanic fit perfectly together.

The ad was published for all high quantity TV magazines in Germany.

Finally in Austria the first B&K Special Cover was launched

The December issue of the lifestyle magazine Seitenblicke attracts big interest with an outstanding cover. Sky TV Channel decided end of the year to use a sliding mechanic with lifting device to highlight the obsession of their advertising message.

Again a B&K product inspires readers in England

In both versions of Marie Claire – standard and compact -  a so called shutter-mechanic was used for Boss. Not only Boss was enthusiastic about the functionality oft he insert, but also the bookbinders could be convinced how easy this product was processed on their binding lines.

The big success oft he shutter mechanic is based on the curiosity of the readers. They deal remarkably longer and more intensive as with standard ad.
